During the past 50 years, the OGDCL has grown to become the leading exploration and production Company of Pakistan. It has come a long way from its modest beginnings to become Pakistan’s flagship E&P company, listed on all three national stock exchanges and internationally at the London Stock Exchange.
The Government of Pakistan attaches special importance to Oil & Gas Development Company as an organization that spearheads the execution of policy initiatives vis- a –vis exploration and production. The reason for this lies not in OGDCL being a state entity, but in its sheer capacity, size, exploration acreage and production capability, manpower, machinery and equipment, and above all, its best management practices.
During the last five decades, OGDCL has covered significant distance. It has braved myriad challenges to endorse its position in the industry today, such as earning the coveted status of a self-sustaining and self-reliant organization, and embracing a progressive corporate culture. No wonder today, OGDCL has attained the benchmark position as an industry leader in the Pakistan E&P industry.
Fifty years is a high watermark in the history of OGDCL, which is aspiring to be a regional player, due to the impetus provided by its financial and operational muscle. This operation muscle we boast of is not merely in terms of equipment, but primarily in terms of our human resources, our greatest asset, whose achievement year after year has been the main source of energy for us all.
Today, OGDCL is at crossroads. OGDCL has a highly significant role to play in narrowing the yawning divide between demand and supply of energy in Pakistan. As we step forth to embrace this daunting challenge, we do it with vision and commitment. We have a futuristic business strategy in place, which seeks to promote and protect the interests of all stakeholders-employees, shareholders, partners, communities and people. And when it comes to implementation of our vision, our expertise and experience are second to none.
This milestone of 50 years is an occasion to take stock of what we have achieved and what we have to deliver and how. It is an occasion to renew and reaffirm our promise to the nation, to the people, to our founding fathers, to the society and to the world at large.

Golden Jubilee Ceremony
Golden Jubilee Celebrations started with a special ceremony held on September 20, 2011 at OGDCL House Islamabad. Honorable Secretary of Petroleum & Natural Resources, Mr. Muhammad Ejaz Chaudhry graced the occasion.
