Production

OGDCL is constantly endeavoring to maintain production level by applying latest Improved/ Enhanced Oil Recovery (I/ EOR) techniques in order to arrest natural decline from producing fields and to enhance production by expediting connectivity of the new exploratory & development wells in the system.

As Pakistan’s largest Oil & Gas producer, OGDCL share in Country’s total oil and gas production stands at 40,100 BPD of Crude Oil (Net Averaged), 1,100 MMCFD of Gas (Net Averaged) and 174 MTD of LPG (Net Averaged).

Having 46 Operated Oil & Gas fields, geographically distributed all across the country; OGDCL has 18 Oil & Gas processing plants. These include Dehydration, LPG, Sulphur Recovery, H2S Removal, Gas Sweetening, Condensate Stabilization, Refining and Compression plants.

Various measures have been taken in order to augment production levels to reach new heights. This includes setting up of aggressive targets, enduring commitment by its professionals, and induction of latest technologies, pursuing industry best practices, strengthening surveillance techniques, enhancing in-house engineering design & simulation capabilities, utilization of state-of-the art automation systems and fostering use of information technology.

Fields to be Incorporated - Sindh

Sinjhoro Gas/Condensate Field

The Sinjhoro field is located in district Sanghar of Sindh Province. The Sinjhoro E.L covering an area of 179.31 Sq.Km (approx) was awarded to joint venture of OGDCL (60%), OPL (15%) & GHPL (25%) with effect from Dec 29, 1999 for the initial term of ten years. Sinjhoro development consists of a number of small fields discovered in proximity of each other with in the Sinjhoro Exploration License: Baloch, Chak-2, Chak-63, Chak-63SE, Chak-66, Chak-66NE, Chak-7, Hakeem Daho, Lala Jamali and Resham

Bagla Gas Condensate Field

Bagla is located at a distance of about 150 KMs in the east of Karachi in Thatta Exploration block of Sindh Province and about 45 KMs from Badin. The Field can be approached through Badin – Sajawal metallic road. Phillips Petroleum Exploration Limited discovered Bagla # 01 in December 1998. On production testing, gas/ condensate were discovered in lower Goru Formation however Bagla well#1 had to be plugged & abandoned due to gas oozing at surface. Later OGDCL drilled/completed Bagla# 02 as gas condensate producer from lower Goru Formation. Drilling of Bagla#02 was started on June 7th, 2008 and completed on Nov 8th, 2008.

Nur Gas Condensate Field

Nur Gas Field is located about 05 KMs from Bagla Gas Field. Drilling of Nur # 01 was completed in June 1991 by OGDCL followed by Production testing. Gas / Condensate were discovered in Lower Goru Formation. After installing well head surface facilities and Membrane plant, commercial production has been started w.e.f February 23, 2013.
