NON-FORMAL SCHOOLS WITH CHILD CARE FOUNDATION (CCF)

OGDCL signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Child care

Foundation (CCF) on 08th March, 2017 at Regional Office Multan to establish 15 Non-Formal schools at different locations of Kabirwala District Khanewal. The project aims to provide complete free Primary Level Education to underprivileged / working children for 36 months by establishing 15 non-formal.

The funds will be use for hiring of 15 teachers’, provision of books, uniforms and rent of class rooms. The CSR Department is regularly monitoring the progress and standard of Non-Formal schools.

WOMEN VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTRES

Empowering women to participate fully in economic life across all sectors is essential to build stronger economies to achieve goals for development and sustainability and also to improve the quality of life for women, families and communities. The Government of Pakistan has taken deliberate and conscious steps to enhance the participation of women in economic sphere.

To this end, OGDCL during the year 2017 provided equipments for Women Vocational institute at Miran Shah established by Headquarter 7 division operation area.   Moreover, the Company also established Women Vocational training Centre at Tando Alam Mari District Hyderabad, where women are trained in stitching, knitting and embroidery. An amount of Rs.3.7 million annually is being is provided to run the Vocational training Centre                                

GIRL’S HOSTEL AT QUAID-I-AZAM UNIVERSITY, ISLAMABAD

Constructed Block for Girls Hostel for the students of far-flung areas of Pakistan. The cost of the project was Rs. 59 Million and it started its operation on 01 August, 2015. The hostel has capacity of 300 students for accommodation.

GOVERNMENT COLLEGE MURREE

Financial support was provided to Government College Murree for Computer Lab, Equipment, Supplies and Girls Common Room on September 10, 2016. Minister for Petroleum Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was present on the occasion where the school authorities appreciated the initiative by OGDCL which will benefit students of the school

GOVERNMENT PRIMARY SCHOOL DHOKE RAJIAN 

The Company spent an amount of Rs. 1.260 million for the provision of furniture, electrification and construction of classrooms for Government Primary School Dhoke Rajian near OGDCL Rajian Oil Field during the year 2013-14.

GOVERNMENT HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL UMER DAHU, DISTRICT GHOTKI 

The Company provided various equipment (electric water coolers, ceiling fans, multimedia projector, microscope and furniture) amounting to Rs. 1.955 million 2013-14.

GOVERNMENT HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, CHANDA KHURRAM, DISTRICT KARAK 

To provide quality education to communities near Nashpa Oil Field, the company under its CSR program constructed a class room and provided computers, printers to Government Higher Secondary School Chanda Khuram, Karak, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).  MPA Karak and District Education Officer, Karak appreciated OGDCL’s efforts particularly in education sector.

AL REHMAN PUBLIC HIGH SCHOOL, DISTRICT GHOTKI.

 The Company Provided Computers, Generator, Electric water cooler and Multimedia Projector to depriving and needy students of Al-Rehman Public (Model) High School, Mullah Chutto Kalwar Kohuhara District Ghotki .

FRONTIER CROPS (FC) PUBLIC SCHOOLS DERA BUGTI.

OGDCL provide books, uniforms and school bags to the meritorious students of FC schools, District Dera Bugti. FM Pirkoh distributed the articles among the students. This activity was warmly hailed by local notables and FC high ups.

PETROLEUM TECHNICAL TRAINING INSTITUTE (PTTI).

To uplift the education standard of far flung areas where youth are generally unable to access quality education facility, OGDCL upgraded the Petroleum Technical Training Institute located in District  Khairpur, Sindh.  The Company funded the establishment of four fully equipped laboratories:  

• Production and Drilling lab.     

• Oil and gas testing lab.

• Computer lab. 

• Instrumental lab along with relevant text books /software and audio     visual aid.

INSTITUTE OF TECHNICAL EDUCATION (BITE).

The Company aimed to implement a community-driven development initiative across the country, focusing on the weaker and more deprived communities. In order to promote technical education in Balochistan, the company provided financial support amounting to Rs. 5.00 million to BITE in order to train unskilled people and to educate jobless young people.

TECHNICAL TRAINING SCHOOL

OGDCL had two Technical training institutes at Karak and in Quetta, where local boys were being provided training in field of the petroleum industry at an annual expenditure of about Rs.5.185 million. In these Institutions, about 200 students were annually trained in various fields of oil & gas industry a monthly stipend is also provided to them. During the year 2015 the institutes were closed with a aim to provide better quality technical education to youth of Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through Government affiliated technical institutes in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
